Rebecca Aklah

Ranger Since: 

Rebecca joined the Taloyoak Rangers in 2001, became a Junior Ranger leader in 2002 and has been on every annual exercise since, joking she loves doing ‘men’s’ work. Aside from her Ranger activities, Rebecca is very involved in her community. She works at the Aboriginal Headstart pre-school program, is a hamlet councillor on the Economic Development committee and is one of the Co-op directors. An accomplished seamstress and baker, she makes wedding cakes and gowns and teaches the sewing of traditional clothing. Her husband George Aklah is also a Ranger and they have several children and grandchildren.
