Sergeant Adam Niaqunnuaq

Adam started as a Ranger in Taloyoak in 1998 at the age of 18 and continued as a Ranger after he moved to Gjoa Haven in 2001. Adam is also a Search and Rescue volunteer. Adam has been on the annual 1 CRPG exercise Operation Nunalivut. This annual exercise covers over a 1000km by snowmobile, gathering dozens of Rangers and hundreds of Canadian Forces men and women to practice their cold weather survival skills and demonstrate Canada’s sovereignty in the Arctic. When not on Ranger duty, Adam is a hunter, an active participant in church fundraising and works various jobs around the community, such as dog control. His wife, Suzie Ukuqtunnuaq, is also a Ranger.
